They say the greater the love, the greater the grief. This is certainly true in my case. My first experience of grief was losing my beloved father at age twelve. He was diagnosed with colon cancer and given weeks to live. Losing my father was devastating and also a shock to my system – one day my father was in my life, then weeks later he was gone forever. When you lose a parent at such a young age, there is a huge void inside of you, in truth, nothing can fill it. The grief and pain you feel from losing a loved one can last your entire life. Grief can be overwhelming for many of us and crying is a wonderful release of sadness and suffering. This painting shows pools of tears from crying over the loss of a loved one and how utterly painful grief can be.
