Anne-Marie Williams aka ‘AMO’ is an emerging Irish artist from Dublin, who lives and works from her studio in Wicklow. Anne-Marie graduated from Limerick School of Art & Design with an honours degree in visual communication. After graduation, she moved to London for 10 years and embarked on her design career there before returning home to Ireland. During the course of her award-winning career in design, her art was exhibited on the GMI (Global Multimedia Interface) video wall in Leicester Square, London, which covered four storey’s of a building – this LED digital wall featured work from various artists around the world. Anne-Marie’s work has also been shown at the Open Exhibition, at the Signal Arts Centre in Bray, Wicklow. In December 2023, five pieces of her work were selected for The Holy Art virtual show in London and New York. In January 2024, Anne-Marie exhibited her work in The Annual Lions Club exhibition at The Wexford Arts Centre. Anne-Marie has also worked as a visiting design lecturer at The National College of Art & Design in Dublin.

In 2021, during the Covid-19 global lockdown, Anne-Marie fully immersed herself in her art again, truly reconnecting with it during a deep period of reflection and inward healing. Anne-Marie is a highly emotive expressionist artist focusing on the human condition and soul’s purpose, with a particular interest with the ‘space in-between’. She believes that the space in between light and dark, is where the soul can truly transform. She is deeply inspired by this metamorphic process on our journey of what it means to be ‘human’. Her work mainly focuses on the human condition through the themes of trauma, energy, awakening and life. Anne-Marie works with a wide variety of textures in her work whilst also creating abstract geometric coloured shapes using acrylic as her main medium.

After years of working behind the screen as a designer, Anne-Marie loves the physical feeling of paint on her hands and textures in her work. There is emotion behind every brush stroke, colour and layer in her work. She is inspired by nature, animals and people, particularly people who overcome adversity. Anne-Marie is currently working on more expressionistic work fusing both her textured and geometric approaches. She lives beside the sea in Co. Wicklow, Ireland, otherwise known as the garden county of Ireland.
